In a September 2024 presentation of Living Artist Society, CCAML is producing two concerts celebrating the legacy of the great Paul Robeson and commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Peekskill Riots of 1949. We will bring Robeson’s music and legacy to life in two performances of “Here I Stand” - a program Mr. Doss performed for Robeson’s 125th Birthday at Lincoln Center and Mother AME Zion Church in Harlem.

Principals of Pegasus: The Orchestra will accompany Mr. Doss led by artistic director Karen Hakobyan from the piano. Pegasus: The Orchestra is a nonprofit professional orchestra with a mission to empower rising musicians with artistic freedom and promote innovative repertoire in an environment of creative thought and expression.

Aaron Mair is an Environmental Justice pioneer intersectionally working in the spaces of Health, Environment, Voting Rights, and Disparities over the last 40 Years. Aaron will host the performance and provide the historical backdrop with eyewitness accounts and other personal stories.
